What a beautiful tree. There were in blossom everywhere on Grand Bahama Island.

Doris H. our dear friend who drove us to Beacon School every Monday so we could play and teach guitar at her school. Thanks so much Doris. Doris invited us to this music night at her Presbyterian Church. It was great to see all the families enjoying the music and visiting.

I think this is called antler ear moss or something like that. I remember trying to get one little sprout to grow in my house when I lived in Calgary and this thing is going crazy, so healthy and wild.

This is a very hot Tom after a good game of Tennis with Hank, Gabe and me. After we played Tennis in the morning we were so hot we would go in the pool with our Tennis clothes on and drink our beer there. Man it was hot. We would be sweating before we even started to play.

These are Ann's birds, her Love birds and Ring-necked African Parrot and some Sparrows have gotten into the cage.

This is Ann's Ring-necked African Parrot. A pair of them flew into her aviary after the Hurricane in 2004. They must have gotten loose and couldn't find their home so they came to hers. They are very beautiful.

This is Ann and Chippie's view from their backyard into the canal. This is a Poinciana Tree.

This is a Sea Muffin. You can find them on some of the beaches and sometimes when you're snorkeling.

The fruit is just starting to show on the trees. By the time we get back in the fall it'll be all ripe and ready to eat.

Ann and Chippie's house from the side. There are bars on the windows because the people that owned it before weren't there all year round and there was more of a chance of a break in so they put the bars up.

We moved the Swan over to the dock by the Tennis Courts. They are in the background. We pushed it 5 feet away from the dock and Anthony put 26 lines on her to protect her from the winds she might get while we're gone. We put our bikes, kayak, dinghy, etc. on the front deck, took the sails down and put the fenders around her strategically placed. So far all is well with the Swan and we're so glad.

The Dolphin Experience

Robert, Ning Ning's husband very kindly showed us around where he works. He works at "The Dolphin Experience" out of Unexco in Port Lucaya. So we got to touch and be in the water with a dolphin.

I took these pictures in the Unexco store where we caught the boat out to where the dolphins are.

This is the big Resort in Port Lucaya, we're on the Ocean. The Resort looks like a Cruise Ship without the whale tail on the back.

This is the young dolphin we got to be in the water with and we were allowed to touch her and pet her. She was pregnant.

Diane and I, in the water with the young dolphin. The instructor gave the dolphin hand signs to do certain things, swim out, swim in, go to right, go to left, up, swim in a circle. She fed the dolphin treats too when the dolphin did what she was asked to. We were instructed not to put both hands in the water, only one and move slowly and don't pet her on her head, only behind her breathing spout. It was very interesting. They have acres of water with divisions so that some dolphins can be separated from other dolphins. I think they had 30 or so dolphins and they take a group of them out to the Ocean for divers to dive with. The dolphins follow the company boat out and back in because they are fed from the boat. A number of dolphins were born here too which is a good sign, meaning the dolphins are healthy here and will breed here too.

They had cockatoos and .... what are these one's called?????? Isn't he beautiful. What an amazing day.

There are many different kinds of dolphins and porpoises. This place is a research centre for the betterment of dolphins.

The Three Mosquitoes...reading...homes on our bicycle route to Freeport

Hank and Anthony making music at Ocean Reef. Most Wednesday evenings we had a Sing-a-long with Boaters and Time-Share people at Groupers Restaurant. It was fun and kept our fingers in shape.

On Tuesdays I would go and visit Margaret, a woman who went blind 7 years ago. This is her apartment in a Row Housing Complex. She lives with her 14 year old son. She was selling peanuts at the grocery store, on the sidewalk outside, and she was asked not to do that anymore so now she stays at home. She was saddened by this, she liked having a purpose to get out and be around people. The people going by her everyday would stop and visit with her and pass her some extra money. She is a very special person.

When we first came to Ocean Reef this complex was just being started. We would bicycle by it on our way to Freeport, and now it's almost ready to be lived in.

This fence is made from coral rock. It looks pretty but would take a lot of hauling and placing of the rock from the shore.

This huge home is on the road to Ocean Reef.

The colours are out...the summer is coming. What a beautiful tree.

Tom Christian works for BASRA, Bahama Air Sea Rescue Association and he sells Ts and tanks and beer cozies, etc. as a fund raiser for BASRA. He hangs the clothes on his boat for people to see. What a great idea.

This is Suki, one of Ning Ning's little dogs. This is the mother of Jimmy and Carlos.

I sure enjoyed this book. I love reading.

Life at Ocean Reef...

This is Banana Bay Beach. We went to the restaurant here with Ann for some time on the beach and a bite to eat.

I took a picture of this before but I think it is so neat to see there that I took a picture of the fish with the Canadian flag painted on it again.

This is a map of the Bahamas and coins from the Bahamas. Ann sells these at various stores around the Bahamas, at airports and in tourist areas. They are very beautiful.

It's laundry day. I wash the clothes in a bucket and then hang it out around the boat to dry.
